Knocked out

Published under Off Topic

So I have about 6000 chips, blinds 100-200 and I’m in the big blind.
I’m dealt

QdQh

Two callers of the big blind including the small blind who is the big stack at the table with about 20000 chips. I raise to 950, hoping both call. They do.

Flop comes A 5 7 rainbow.

SB checks, I check, third player goes all in for about 500. SB calls, I go all in, knowing third player probably has an ace. SB has been playing really loose, could have any two cards. I’m hoping SB has middle or low pair, and will call. I’ll still probably lose to the aces, but I’ll win chips from SB because the other player started the hand with so few chips.

SB does call, but with nothing. I’m a big favorite to win the side pot.

Third player turns over

SB turns over

The turn and the river come

Js3s

SB has hit running spades on the turn and river to win the hand with the flush. I lose. I think I played the hand right, even though I knew I didn’t have the best hand after the flop. The other option was to raise huge preflop, and hope to win the blinds.
