Hansen Renounces Global Warming
In an unexpected press release, James Hansen has said that global warming is a hoax.
There is no proof that the Earth is any warmer today than it was fifty years ago. Carbon dioxide levels - such as measured at Mauna Loa - have appeared to rise only because of instrument calibration issues. There is a yearly cycle, but after re-calibration there is no upward trend. If anything, carbon dioxide levels appear to be decreasing over the last five years. With no expected warming due to carbon dioxide, there is no longer any reason to expect sea levels to rise, nor for there to be a decrease in arctic sea ice or a collapse of the antarctic ice sheet. With this new-found revelation, I no longer beleave global warming to be an issue and I encourage other climate scientists to renounce global warming as alarmist.
