World Clock - Earth Temperature
There’s this cool page I found in one of the feeds I monitor - Poodwaddle.com: World Clock. I’m not exactly sure how they calculate the numbers. If I was doing it, I’d just take yearly (or any time period really) trends and then just update the numbers based upon those values. Of coarse this doesn’t work out so well with the more fluctuating variables, such as Earth Temperature. Have a look see at the image below.

You’ll notice that the Earth Temp is 14.605413973 C. Whew. That’s precise. In fact, there is no way that the temperature of the Earth can be measured to that precision today. Maybe in the future, when Earth science funding increases, there will be enough data to get a value that precise. The Earth’s temperature seems to be increasing linearly. This isn’t true. If it was, it would be really easy to convince people that global warming was a problem.
The image above was taken just as I started writing this post. The temperature as I finish is 14.6054114405 C, which is a change of 0.0000010432 C. That doesn’t seem like much. Maybe this global warming thing isn’t a problem afterall.
