How would they cross the oceans?

They won’t cross oceans, but maybe in future we will not be living this life of automobile based transport, malls, suburbs and intercontinental air travel?

Why they are so much better than conventional high speed trains is not so clear. Are they a lot more energy efficient? They are certainly theoretically capable of higher speeds. But in practice? Whereas high speed trains are here, now, we could migrate to them in a few years, and we know how to do it on a large scale.
