Upgrade problems

Published under Off Topic

One problem with not writing for a few months is that you also don’t update the software. So I’m running a fairly old version of WordPress. And the automagic updater isn’t working. I’ve been corresponding with tech support, and it looks like I may need to upgrade it manually. Uh huh. That sounds like a good way to accidentally delete everything. This blogging thing is hard.

I know that problem :) just to be on the safe side, you can export all your posts in Wordpress to a backup file, including the comments.
I even managed to integrate two blogs into one without any trouble (besides me forgetting to backup the images, duh!).

The WP-DB-Backup plugin will back up your tables for you. So just in case you do screw up the upgrade, your posts will be recoverable.

And its a plugin so it’s very easy to use.
